Injury Care Questions, Answered
What is a DOL doctor?
A DOL doctor is a physician enrolled with the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Workers' Compensation Programs (OWCP) to treat federal employees hurt on the job. Under the Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA), an injured federal worker can choose their own doctor, and a DOL-OWCP doctor knows the forms (CA-1, CA-2, CA-16, CA-17) and reports OWCP needs.
Should I see a doctor after a car accident if I feel fine?
Yes. Whiplash, back and neck injuries and concussions often show symptoms hours or days after a crash, once the adrenaline wears off. An exam by a car accident doctor soon after the wreck documents your injuries and starts treatment early, which matters for both your recovery and your personal injury claim.
Can I choose my own injury doctor?
In most cases, yes. If you've been injured at work or in a car accident, you can choose a doctor who has your best interests at heart rather than one your employer or an insurance company picked. Federal employees can choose their own OWCP doctor under FECA.
What does a visit cost?
Your consultation is complimentary, and in most cases you can be seen the same day. Our claims experts explain how your care can be covered: auto insurance after a car or truck accident, workers’ compensation for a work injury, or OWCP for federal employees.
What kinds of injuries do your doctors treat?
Work-related injuries, car accident injuries, 18-wheeler and truck accident injuries, DOL-OWCP federal work injuries, slip and fall injuries and more, with medical exams, medical care, chiropractic care, physical therapy, rehabilitation, pain management and orthopedic referrals.
